Vanessa was living in a beautiful apartment in the heart of manly but her home was in desperate need of a facelift, specifically her entry, kitchen and bathroom. Everything was outdated, dark and functionally didn't work.

The apartment had beautiful high ceilings with ornate details and had bags of potential but Vanessa was missing some key elements. Our brief was to bring more light, add a 'entertaining space' in the kitchen for her friends to gather around, increase storage, and hide her cat litter tray and laundry! She wanted a modern calm space that still captured the art deco elements of the original apartment.

 

Although the kitchen space was small we utilised the entry to extend the bench tops and provide a 'entertaining space' with stools for those 'wine and cheese' nights! Through putting in a new and larger skylight, and replacing the bathroom windows we immediately lightened everything up, along with choosing finishes that were light and bright but still warming. Her bathroom had fantastic high ceilings which enabled us to build a hidden laundry with storage and the cat litter tray had a home at last!
